The Woods Man and The Golden Axe

0 komentar
Once upon a time, a woodsman was cutting down a tree near a river. His axe flew out of his hands and fell into the deep river water.

"Oh, what shall I do? That axe is how I earn my living. Without it I will starve!"

As he stood by the water's edge trying to see his axe in the murky water, a woods fairy appeared and asked him the reason for his distress.

“Why are you crying?” the fairy asked.

“I lost my axe, in this river!” said the woodsman.

"Oh, is that all? I can get your axe for you."

Then, the fairy dove into the river and brought up a golden axe.

"Is this the one you lost?"

The woodsman shook his head.

"No, it is not. I wish that it was. Mine was not so fine as that one. But, mine was a good, sturdy axe, well-suited to my work."

The fairy just replied with her smile.

Then, the fairy dove in a second time, and came back up with a silver axe.

"Is this the one you lost?" the fairy asked.

"No, that is not mine either," said the woodsman.

Once more the fairy dove into the river, and this time brought up the missing axe.

The woodsman said happily. “Thank you! Thank you! That’s it!”. "Now I can return to work. You have been very kind to me."

"You are an honest man," said the fairy. "You shall be rewarded for your good heart. You may keep all three axes." The fairy dove back into the water before the astonished man had time to say a word.

One day letter, the woodsman told his story to his friends. One of them was very jealous and greedy. He thought he might get a couple of gold and silver axes for himself.

So he went to cut a tree at the edge of the same river, and of course he managed to drop his axe into the water. The fairy appeared as before, and on learning that his axe was lost. She dove into the river and brought up a golden axe.

The greedy man didn’t wait for the fairy to ask, he just shouted, "That's mine! That’s mine! Give it to me!". He reached out to take the shining tool.
"This is not your axe and you know it," said the fairy. "You are a liar, greedy man. You will get no axe at all from me."

The fairy dove back into the river, leaving the Woodsman.

Remember everyone,
honesty is the best policy. THANK YOU.

Saridin a desseminator of islamic religion from Iran. He left his house to penetrate religion knowledge so he could restore situation in Iran which full of distrubance situation. After getting permission from his parents, he went to wander. After a few days, he finally arrived in java north beach and there was Demak kingdom (the first islam kingdom in Java).
The name of walisongo had been famous until the country hamlet. One of walisongo was Sunan Kalijaga. One day Saridin met Sunan Kalijaga and explained his purpose to come to Java. Finally, Sunan Kalijaga accepted Saridin to be a student. Saridin learned the knowledge from Sunan Kalijaga. After learning for a few days, Saridin could show his capability. So Saridin was requested to teach other people and Sunan Kalijaga delegated him to deepen his knowledge with Sunan Kudus in Kadilangu.
After he came to Kadilangu, Saridin consigned message from Suan Kalijaga for accepting Saridin to be his student. Sunan Kudus accepted Saridin with pleasure. In this place saridin could learn many lessons, that for traveling life in this world, people must always try with their hand and shouldn’t suspend to other people. In Java philosophy it’s famous with “ yen kepengen ngombe nimboo, yen kepengen dhahar ngupadio”.
Saridin’s capability was also detected by Sunan Kudus. Sunan Kudus wanted Saridin to show his superanatural powers. And then he showed his superanatural powers by bringing water in the basket without shed. Not only that, he also could prove his certainly “if there is water sure there is fish”. Absolutely it made Sunan Kudus’s heart surprised because of that thing impossible to be done by other people. Seeing his potency, Sunan Kudus gave title “syekh” to Saridin. Sunan Kudus concluded Saridin could help him to broadcast islam religion in other zone. And then Sunan Kudus instructed him to go to Palembang.
In order to be saved in his jorney, Sunan Kudus gave “setangkep kelapa”, ”bathok bolu”, and “kudi rancang weapon”. Setangkep kelapa had meaning to be ship to wade through the ocean. Bathok bolu and kudi rancang weapon were things which could be used to reject misfortune to help Saridin. By setangkep kelapa Saridin went to Palembang. Accidentally, in Palembang was assaulted disaster, the people called it pageblug. Pageblug was such as infected illness. Saridin who had been there at that time promptly met the king of Palembang and extended his purpose. With pleasure the king accepted Saridin and hoped Saridin could help that problem. At that moment he remembered with the things from Sunan Kudus which could help Saridin to reject misfortune and cured diseases. So with the instruction from God, he prayed in order to disaster pageblug make disappeared and people became healthy again.
God listened Saridin’s wish. Not long after that, the disaster had gone little by little. With that success, many people wanted to learn about Saridin’s knowledge. Because of Saridin’s success, the king felt thankfully and approved to marry Saridin with one of his daughters, Retna Diluwih. After getting married, Saridin and his wife went to Java. Not long after that, they arrived at Mentaok, Mataram.
Saridin’s presence was detected by the king of Mataram, Panembahan Senopati. He interested and wanted to meet Saridin. And then, he instructed his watchman to bring Saridin to the palace. So, Saridin and the watchman went to the palace to meet the king.
Panembahan Senopati welcomed Saridin happily. The king wanted Saridin to share his knowledge because he heard that Saridin owned greatness on everything, especially on religion.
Panembahan Senopati asked Saridin to show his supernatural power. With modesty, Saridin showed his supernatural power. He confessed Saridin’s greatness and realized that his capability was not comparable with Saridin. Therefore, he gave title of respect “Syeh Jangkung” to Saridin. He also married his younger sister, Raden Ayu Retna Jumali to Syeh Jangkung.
Then, Panembahan Senopati gave assignment to Syeh Jangkung to disseminate Islamic religion in the west of Progo river. Not long after that, Syeh Jangkung’s entourage arrived in the west of Progo river. At that time, buffalos were cattle which maintained by most people. Majority buffalos there had grayish white color, so it called “kebo bule” or “kebo lando”. “Kebo” was buffalo in English, “bule” refered to strangers who usually had light skin.
When he arrived there, Syeh Jangkung built a lodge. One day, Syeh Jangkung was given a buffalo “kebo lando” by his student beause he had save his buffalo’s life. Therefore, he also often called Kyai Landoh (lendah) and nowadays that place known as Lendah village. There Kyai Landoh also built a mosque named “Masjid Landoh” (now Masjid Al-Furqon)

Teks Tanggapan Kritis : Perlukah CCTV di Kantin Kejujuran?

0 komentar

TELAGA WARNA

Long, long ago there was a kingdom in West Java. The kingdom was ruled by a king. People called their king His Majesty Prabu. Prabu was a kind and wise king. No wonder if that country was prosperous. There’s no hunger in this kingdom.

It was a very happy condition. But it was a pity that Prabu and his queen hadn’t got any children. It made the royal couple very, very sad. Some old men and women who was respected by Prabu suggested the king to adopt a child. But Prabu and the queen didn’t agree. “No, thank you. But for us, our own daughter or son is better than adopted children.”

The queen was very sad. She often cried. That was why Prabu decided to go. He went to the jungle. There he prayed to God. Everyday he begged for a child. His dream came true. A few months later, the queen got pregnant. All people in the kingdom felt happy. They sent many presents to the palace to express their happiness.

Nine months later a princess was born. People sent their presents again as a gift to a little princess. This baby grew as a beautiful teenager then.

Prabu and Queen loved their daughter so much. They gave what ever she wanted. It made Princess a very spoiled girl. When her wish couldn’t be realized, she became very angry. She even said bad things often. A true princess wouldn’t do that. Even though the princess behaved badly, her parents loved her, so did the people in that kingdom.

Day by day, the princess grew more beautiful. No girls could compare with her. In a few days, Princess would be 17 years old. So, people of that kingdom went to palace. They brought many presents for her. Their presents gift were very beautiful. Prabu collected the presents. There were really many presents. Then Prabu stored them in a building. Some times he could take them to give to his people.

Prabu only took some gold and jewels. Then she brought them to the goldsmith. “Please make a beautiful necklace for my daughter,” said Prabu. “My pleasure, Your Majesty,” the goldsmith replied. The goldsmith worked with all his heart and his ability. He wanted to create the most beautiful necklace in the world because he loved his princess.

The birthday came. People gathered in the palace field. When Prabu and queen appeared, people welcomed them happily. Prabu and his wife waved to their beloved people.

Cheers were louder and louder when the princess appeared with her fabulous pretty face. Everybody admired her beauty. Prabu got up from his chair. A lady gave him a small and glamorous pillow. A wonderful necklace was on it. Prabu took that necklace. “My beloved daughter, today I give this necklace to you. This necklace is a gift from people in this country. They love you so much. They presented it for you to express their happiness, because you have growing to a woman. Please, wear this necklace,” said Prabu.

Princess accepted the necklace. She looked at the necklace in a glance. “I don’t want to accept it! It’s ugly!” shouted the princess. Then she threw the necklace. The beautiful necklace was broken. The gold and jewels were spread out on the floor.

Everybody couldn’t say anything. They never thought that their beloved princess would do that cruel thing. Nobody spoke. In their silence people heard the queen crying. Every woman felt sad and began crying too. Then everybody was crying.

Then there was a miracle. Earth was crying. Suddenly, from the under ground, a spring emerged. It made a pool of water. The palace was getting full. Soon the place became a big lake. The lake sank all of the kingdom.

Now a days the water on that lake is not as full as before. There is only a small lake now. People called the lake “Talaga Warna”. It is mean “Lake of Colour”. It’s located in Puncak, West Java. On a bright day, the lake is full of colour. So beautiful and amazing. These colors come from shadows of forest, plants, flowers, and sky around the lake. But some people said that the colours are from the princess’s necklace, which spreads at the bottom of the lake.

One day a Lion sleep in the jungle. A tiny mouse ran over the Lion’s head and down his nose. The Lion awoke with a loud roar. He was very angry. His claw caught the little mouse.
The Lion opened his huge jaws to swallow the mouse “Pardon me. O King, I beg of you. “Cried the tiny mouse.

“If you forgive me this time, i will never forget your kindness. I meant no harm and I certainly didn’t want to disturb your majesty. If you let me stay a live, I can do you a good turn, too”.
The Lion began to laugh. He laughed and laughed. “How could a tiny creature like you ever do anything to help me ?” And he shook with laughter. “Oh well,” he shrugged, looking down at the tiny mouse, “you’re not so much of a meal anyway”.
Then, he released his claw from the mouse and the mouse quickly ran away.

Some time after this, some hunters, tried to capture the Lion alive. They set up rope nets in the jungle. The Lion fell in to the trap. He roared and thras hed.
His thunderous bellows sent through the jungle.
The tiny mouse heard the Lion’s roars.
“That may be the Lion who once freed me” he said remembering his promise. And he ran to see whether he could help.

Discovering the sad Lion, the mouse said to him “Stop, stop ! you must not roar. If you make so much noise, the hunters will come and capture you. I’ll get you out of this trap”
With his sharp little teeth, the mouse gnawed at the ropes until they broke. The Lion stepped out of the net and was free. The mouse said. “Now, I’m right ?”
“Thank you, good mouse,” Said Lion gently. “You did help me. I see now that kindness is always worth while,’’

Cerita Rakyat Timun Mas

0 komentar
